Our Facility

Located in Port Kembla, near Wollongong, Water Walkies is home to the Illawarra’s first purpose-built dog hydrotherapy pool, kept at a balmy 29°C year-round for optimal therapeutic benefit.

Our facility also features an underwater treadmill with 360° cameras to assess gait, track progress, and support tailored rehabilitation programs.

We’re proud to also offer therapeutic laser treatments — one of our fastest-growing services for pain relief, inflammation, injury recovery, and more..

Our Story

Co-owners Allison and Catherine began their journey in the UK, where they earned their hydrotherapy qualifications in 2017 – a country where animal rehab is widely accepted as part of mainstream veterinary care.

Fuelled by passion, they returned home and designed and built Water Walkies from the ground up, creating a dedicated multi-modal rehab and wellness centre for dogs and cats. Today, Water Walkies has a growing team of six trained staff, with more joining as demand grows.

In 2022, their dedication was recognised with a prestigious Illawarra Business Women’s Award – a proud milestone in their mission to raise the standard of animal wellness care in the region.
